About Us

Nagaland is the only State in the country that hosts an office of the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA). TaFMA (erstwhile known as Music Task Force) is
an important wing of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports. It caters and promotes ‘music & arts as an industry’ and gives a platform for growth and development of Naga Musicians & Artists.

TaFMA conducts the following events:
1. Hornbill International Rock Festival.
2. Music Competitions in all districts of Nagaland.
3. Training in Music and Sound Engineering for aspiring Naga Musicians.
4. Workshops and Seminars for Skill Up-gradation and Motivation of
musicians.
5. Workshop and Training on Event Planning and Management.
6. Fund Raising Events for Noble Causes, etc.

Activities

Thanksgiving Concert at RCEMPA Jotsoma on 30th November 2016 at 4:30pm.

Named by CNN as the biggest music festival in Asia, this doesn’t need an introduction. Recognized all around the world, the festival receives the biggest names from the international music circuit like Dimitri Vegas, David Guetta, Martin Garrix and many more. The grandeur of the event can be estimated by the fact that last year this festival was attended by close to half a million music lovers and the organizers plan to make it even bigger this year.

The Government, and most specifically with the initiative of Member of Legislative Assembly, Shri. Neiphiu Rio, started the Hornbill National Rock Contest which is an integral event of the Hornbill Festival. The Hornbill National Rock Contest, as the name suggests, is a National-level contest and boasts of being the longest music festival in the country, it being a seven-day-long festival. Attractive cash prizes and music educated/music loving crowd makes the Hornbill National Rock Contest/Festival a unique experience for performers. The winning prize of ₹10,00,000 (10 lakh of rupees) is considered to be one of the highest in the country.

In our final concert of the Season, principal players from the Kennedy center Opera House Orchestra take a break from the ring cycle to finish off our four elements cycle thursday 29th December 2016.
